When we remove your braces, we will begin the retention stage of your treatment. It is very important to maintain what you worked so hard to achieve. The active retention phase lasts for a minimum of 24 months, and we now know that retention is as important as your active orthodontic treatment. Your final orthodontic result depends on your retainers, so follow through with the hard work you’ve put in so far. Remember to remove your retainer before brushing, and brush your retainer before placing it back in your mouth.

The safest place for your retainer is in your mouth but, when you are not wearing them, remember to place them in the retainer case that you have been provided. Also, pets “love” your retainers so take very good care of them and keep your case where your pet can not get to it.
